Abstract: | A design variation of a recently introduced dual-band half-mode substrate-integrated textile cavity antenna for wearable applications is presented. Through the introduction of a slot close to the cavity aperture a significant enhancement in the bandwidth at the lower band is obtained. Notably, the thickness of the cavity which is the main factor in determining the bandwidth is unchanged. The introduction of the aperture slot raises the bandwidth from 4.5% to 6.0% at the lower band of operation. |
