Abstract: This paper presents a simple low-cost wideband monopolar antenna. The design concept consists of an array of four identical monopoles fed by an equal power divider at the center. Different from the previous structures, this design scheme brings several practical advantages, which make the antenna suitable to be integrated into multi-polarized structures. Two design examples are demonstrated to show the applicability of this structure, including a dual-polarized omni-directional antenna and an ultra-wideband tri-polarized antenna.
