Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to purify the 16 kDa protein of Salmonella Enteritidis 11RX to facilitate its detailed characterisation, including the definition of its T cell epitopes. The role of this protein in the pathogenesis of S. Enteritidis and its significance in protection against challenge by virulent S. Enteritidis is also investigated. |
