Abstract: | Commonwealth criminal law is now substantially codified. Chapter 2 of the Commonwealth Criminal Code provides an exhaustive statement of the principles of criminal responsibility in federal offences. The article which follows provides an introduction to Chapter 2, with illustrations of the structure of criminal offences under the Code. It concludes with a brief examination of three areas of potential strain in the development of a Code jurisprudence. |
