Abstract: The hormone relaxin is known to be important in pregnancy but its receptor has long remained elusive. In a Perspective, Ivell discusses the identification of receptors for relaxin and its close relative relaxin-like factor (Hsu et al.), and the finding that relaxin is far more than just a reproductive hormone.
