Abstract: Historical lines of inquiry reveal the development and nature of information acquisition, control and intermedial relations, translations and retranslations. Information has become an important tool in governance and the embodiment of meaning in modernity. Appropriating this understanding of governance, power, neutrality and constructs of meaning, informational theory will be reposited to highlight lines of examination with regard to computer music, the domain of the computer and its intermedial interplay.
