Abstract: | The aim of this project was to do a pilot study to ascertain if there was an increase in the prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency in urban Aboriginal patients with muscle pain. To achieve this aim there were many research and computer skills that needed to be learned. These included learning to do a literature review, develop a research proposal, select a method, achieve ethics approval, perform the research, analyse the data and prepare the outcomes for publication. The PHCRED Associateship has provided the opportunity to be taught, supervised and immersed in a research environment in the Department of General Practice at the University of Adelaide. |
