Abstract: | A new mixed-heterocycle 'extended-reach' ligand has been synthesized and used to prepare copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes. An X-ray crystal structure determination reveals that the copper complex is an M2L2 metallomacrocycle having an unusual rectangular shape with a length of over 2nm stabilized by intramolecular π-stacking. §Dedicated to Prof. Peter Williams in honour of his outstanding contribution as editor of this journal |
