Abstract: <jats:title>Abstract</jats:title><jats:p>The synthesis and structural characterization of a bis‐dicobalt derivative of dimethyl hex‐3‐en‐1,5‐diyne‐1,6‐dicarboxylate, [{Co<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(μ‐dppm)(CO)<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>}<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>(μ:μ‐MeO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CC<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CH=CHC<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>CO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Me)]·2CHCl<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> (<jats:bold>1</jats:bold>) is described, permitting, in the context of previous related studies, comparison of the effects of progressive substitution of the ethene hydrogen atoms by C≡C·SiMe<jats:sub>3</jats:sub> groupings.</jats:p>
