Issue Date: | 11-Dec-2012 |
Abstract: | Murderer's Slippers (Jinna-arbill) (Central Australia) The slippers worn by cannibal raiders when they preyed on other groups and captured, by preference, young girls and boys for eating, were made of hair, fur and feathers. Daisy Bates tried to protect the women and children living near Ooldea and she gave them damper and other food to distract them from eating each other and newborn babies. |
