Abstract: | Increasing numbers of child abuse and neglect notifications and substantiations have resulted in the South Australian Government providing $28.2 million from 2008/09 to 2011/12 to support families in contact with the statutory child protection and care system. The Stronger Families Safer Children Program ("the Program") aims to provide support for at-risk children and their families to prevent their progression through the child protection system and the possible removal of their children to out-of-home care. The Program also provides support with respect to the reunification of children who have been separated from their primary care givers. |
