Abstract: | Describes the development of Zn(II) selective ligands for use as fluorescent probes to monitor exchangeable Zn2+ in biological systems. Ligands were synthesized based on the phenyl substituted thiazoline substructure which is the chromophose of pyochelin. The stability and fluorescence of the Zn complexes were determined. |
